I've never been to a State Fairgrounds to watch a race... and Brian Hayden is planning on racing the modified.

I am hoping that I can hook my golf cart on the back bumper of a silver crown car and go flying around the track. Just kidding!

Do the teams have to unload their equipment in the infield or does everyone park their haulers in the infield?

Thanks!

Last few times I've been there the mods pit inside turn 3 and 4 on the asphalt parking lot and pit straight out of their trailers.

Bill, I remember back in about 94 or 95 at Indy (don't remember if it was the Hoosier or Hulman 100) a crewman used their 4 wheeler to get a Silver Crown car out during the practice session. As the crewman was push starting the car out of the pits the front pushboard of the 4 wheeler got hooked on the back bumper of the Silver Crown Car. Don't remember what car or driver it was but the driver had no idea he was hooked on and they stayed hooked together until about a quarter of the way down the backstretch until they parted company. Very fortunate that the crewman was not seriously injured but it was one scary site.

Bill, I remember hearing a tale about a guy getting his 4-wheeler hooked on either a Crown car, Or Sprint, he had a tire mounted on the front, and the guy in the race car didn't know it, til he finally launched him in the first turn, where ever it was, they stopped using quads to start the cars, and probably not a hard decision to make, either. I've heard Hayden tell that story a few times. I wasn't there but i remember the guys laughing about it over the years.

I can't remember the guys name but I think he wrenched for Aaron Moseley.

Hey, Bill if you want to add a little more fun to your day the USAC .25 midgets will be running at the fairgrounds also starting at 12:30pm. Also if anyone wanting to come early your more than welcome just tell them Melmo sent you and everyone will get in FREE!!!! We won't be there though were racing in Kokomo. We ran there last weekend for the Robbie Stanley race with well over 200 cars showing up for that race and Starla finished 3rd. The track is located right next to the dirt track on the south side.

Starla getting ready to go out!!!

Believe me the boys are scared of her!!!

Your more than welcome if you can get the golf cart there you can ride all over the grounds where the 25's run and just tell them that I said they better take care of you and they will. There is many places for you to watch the races on the golf cart there. Also talk to Joe or a guy named Weavor and they should be able to hook you up for the big track also ok!!!
