Sure wish we could make it down to Peoria for the midgets this weekend but we gotta' make a livin' instead.
I would guess that the midgets will put on a really good show at Peoria. It's a tight little 1/4 mile and banked fairly steep. I've never seen anything but mud cabs there but they usually put on a great show. I'll bet the midget boys figure it out pretty quickly, too.
All in all it's pretty nice facility.
Geez I must be gettin' old 'cause I remember when they first moved the track from a location on the Northeast side of Peoria known as Mt. Hawley to the present location on Farmington Road way back in 1965. I was just a little kid but I still remember the move and how different the environment was at the present location as opposed to Mt. Hawley.
Have a great time John, I think you'll like the place.
Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

Pretty good night of racing the other night at Peoria with Andrew Felker wining both POWRi features. Lots of passing thruout the night, although the last half of the A-main was a bit more difficult to pass, but still good watching Felker and the line he was running, pass both Brett Anderson and Danny Stratton for the win.
Good car counts for midgets for the weekend with 48 at Little Belleville and then 42 at Peoria co-sanctioned with Badger.
