Less than a few miles from my home to the south henryville, to the east chelsea where some family and freinds are located, and then right in my back yard marysville. we were all spared with no damage luckily but for others it was total distruction. i was looking on the web to try and find out info about the race shop that my sister had lived next to in henryville and this is what i found. Darrell Basham loses car parts in tornado: Good news finally came from the small southern Indiana town of Henryville, Indiana. The massive tornado that took direct aim on the downtown area today spared the life of longtime ARCA competitor Darrell Basham and his family. However, much of what Basham didn't lose in a devastating garage/shop fire in November of 2010, was lost today in downtown Henryville. "My old building, which was my main big shop - it's gone, with everything in it. And we had a bunch of stuff in it that we use to go racing. We walked through earlier. There were headers over here, a piece of racecar over there. Lost all my parts. Maybe someone's trying to tell me something; I just don't know. This could be the end of the line for Darrell Basham Racing; we just don't know. We're okay though, but what a mess. "We had a bunch of motor parts; it's all gone. General parts we use all the time - headers, rims. A-frames, trailing arms. Destroyed everything I had down there - it's all gone. Fortunately I had my cars at the house shop, which the tornado missed

Prayer and thoughts go out to the victims.
It's been a long while sense we been back there. Wasn't there a Whirlpool or Maytag factory near Henryville in 1990's to 2000?

Big thanks to Tri-State Speedway for joining in the recovery effort. Tommy and Lois have allowed State Farm to set up a temporary Auto Drive In catastrophe center at the track. This location will serve customers affected by the tornado's and hail in Southwestern Indiana. Other locations are being setup in Indy and Southeastern Indiana at Lowe's stores.
When things get tough you can always count on the racing community to step up. Thanks.

My prayers are with everyone effected by storms last week. I saw an interview on TV today with the man that tried to rescue his neigbhors by inviting them into his doube wide rather than them lying on the ground outside their trailer. The storm destroyed his doube wide as well as his neighbors home, with the passing of presious little baby girl Angel yesterday five of his neighbors died as a resut of the storm. My heart ached for him watching the interview as it did last night when I saw the father of the young woman this man was trying to help being interviewed.
