Saw on a Facebook page of Charlestown Speedway, that they are not running in 2012. Is this true???? Just looking for an OFFICIAL statement from either the owner or the promoter.

I run a mini stock and my home track has only 7 races for mini stocks in 2012. I was really looking forward to racing at Charlestown and being able to run more races this year.

This does effect the UMRA TQ Midgets, the new King of TQ series and AMSA Mini Sprints as they had races on their schedule at Charlestown.

I have seen several posts on here about Charlestown on here and would like to see a offical statement about the 2012 season.

Ouch.. that would mean umra would only have 6 races? Hope this isn't true.

got a call from Tim Kelley last night. and they are NOT running this year. What a shame. Don't really know the reason for not opening for the 2012 season., but, guess he will make lots mad about canceling after everyone put their schedule out. Hear there was going to be several different groups racing there.

Drove by the track this week on my way to school at IU Southest and it was really coming together. They had a wall in turns 3&4. Look like they added a little more banking also but hard to tell from the highway.

I really thought it was going to work for them. I was telling all my fellow drivers and racing buddies about Charlestown. Now I have to tell them Charlestown isn't running in 2012.
