Was sitting here thinking about it and wondered how many car you think will / might show up at Kokomo Speedway for the "Sprint Car Smackdown 1"?
No doubt the best of the best will be there. Should be a he!! of a show for that kind of money. Just starting all 3 shows could net a driver / team about $2,000 and that's huge.
My guess they will get between somewhere close to 50 - 60 cars for that race plus the Thunder Cars had a decent field all of last year as well with an average of about 25 or so cars a night.
As I said when they announced this deal if they are not paying non qualifiers well (I would think a minimum of $200 to start the B) and give them a reason to give it a shot then I do not see the local guys supporting this show. History shows at big money shows the little guys know they will struggle to compete so they don't come or go race elswehere. Plus many don't want to buy the USAC tires, Hans Device, entry fees, etc to run USAC. My car count predictor is 35. IMO
I believe a HANS device is no longer mandatory in USAC competition.

A. 7. A SFI approved head and neck restraint system is highly suggested.
Hopefully all the local tracks do not schedule sprint races against this event. From the schedules that have already been released Gas City is closed that weekend and Lawrenceburg will be running late models.
All the cars that show up will be there. I would think the $1000 to start should produce a good field. The USAC format to me is the fairest for the little guy to make the feature.

A new track record indeed, also this question is usually asked a week ahead of time, this time it's 7 months away. I would almost guess that a few cars that will show up to this race probably aren't even built yet.

Looks like I win the prize being closest to the car count!
