KODY SWANSON TO COMPETE IN MUST SEE RACING

HOLLY, Mich. – Kody Swanson has joined Wilshe
Motorsports and will compete in a BioBased.US sprint car
in Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series competition in
2012, team officials have announced. Swanson will team with
popular series veteran Jason Blonde in XSS action.

Over the past two seasons Swanson has established
himself as a bona fide star in open wheel racing, winning races
at several of the sport’s most heralded venues. He joins a solid
outfit with Wilshe Motorsports, and Swanson’s presence will
further strengthen the driving roster for a season that is shaping
up to be intensely competitive.

“I’m really excited,” said Swanson, a 23-year-old native
of Kingsburg, Calif. “This is the first opportunity I’ve had to
run some of the Xtreme Sprint Series events, but I’ve watched
several races on television and was impressed with how
professional and how competitive they’ve been. The series is
unlike anything else in short track racing right now, they’re
moving forward and growing, making a name for themselves,
and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

“We’re excited to have Kody join our team for 2012,” said Don Wilshe, BioBased.US founder who with wife Suellen fields Wilshe Motorsports. “Kody has an impressive background, and a winning record as an open wheel driver. It will be a good addition to the team and we look forward to racing with Kody and Jason this season.” The team will utilize a Dave Steele Diablo chassis and Gaerte horsepower.

“Kody will be a great addition to our series,” said Must See Racing founder and president Jim Hanks. “His resume speaks volumes about the type of competitor our series is attracting. Our roster this year is shaping up as an exciting mix of veteran drivers along with some young, extremely talented racers from across the country and Canada. We’re proud of each and every one of our race teams, not only as competitors but as first-class people. Kody is a perfect fit, he’s a fine young man and a great representative of our sport.”

Hanks also announced that BioBased.US will return as presenting sponsor for the series. BioBased.US manufacturers 100% environmentally-friendly bio-degradable cleaning products as well as breakthrough products for the agricultural industry geared toward eliminating the need for harmful pesticides and other chemicals.

Ten of the 16 XSS events in 2012 will be broadcast on national television to over 166 million American homes. In addition, viewership will be boosted by video streaming on the series website. XSS cars are officially the “World’s Fastest Short Track Cars”, drawing fans and viewership from across the USA to see the cars racing at over 150 mph on some of the most prestigious tracks in America.

The 2012 series opener is set for Friday, April 13 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla.

Welcome aboard, Kody. It's been neat watching you race the last few years and now to be with Must See will make it better than ever.

I'd say more guys move to that series with USAC not running pavement sprints. The series seems like it's going in the right direction.

Guess that means the Wilke-Pak seat is open.

It could have started here - Kody & Tanner talking to Jim Hanks on 12-1-2011 at PRI Trade Show in Orlando -

If it turns out that both Swansons are regular competitors in the MSRXSS, it not only adds tremendously to the series talent pool, but it also represents a major headache for the other teams that have their eyes on the title. These two guys show up to every race, thinking they're going to win it. And they're both consistent, too. This would be a real big "get" for MSRXSS.

Thanks Scott and Jerry- I am really looking forward to driving for Don & Suellen Wilshe in the Must See Racing series next year. When the USAC pavement sprint series was discountinued here in the midwest, it really became evident of what a good option the Must See series was. After spending a lot of time talking with Jim Hanks, and reading the article published in the Performance Racing Industry magazine, it is clear that Must See Racing is only continuing to grow and get stronger. They provide a show that is good for their fans- whether it be viewed live or during their tv broadcasts, and have a growing fan and competitor base. So far, Must See Racing has done a great job promoting their television package, racing series and their competitors, and I look forward to what this season has in store.
