Ricky in a midget at Eldora, might be the bravest/craziest driver I've ever seen. Definitely one of them. Another thing that I remember about Ricky happened during what a lot of us like to call the 24 Hours of Sumar. They were all parked on the frontstretch during one of the extended reds, right in front of the covered grandstand. While they were waiting, Ricky gets out of his car, walks over to the infield concession stand and gets a hot dog. It was a funny moment, on a night when there were a lot of people in the stands that hadn't had a very good time, up to that point.

Normally, I don't care that much about NASCAR championship trophy presentations. Today was different, though. Seeing a guy win one that cut his racing teeth at places like Terre Haute, Eldora, Haubstadt, Kokomo, Bloomington, etc. made it pretty cool. When they were interviewing him earlier in the day, he still referred to himself as a "dirt guy".

Ok, for the last couple days we've talked about Ricky , and inevitably the 24 hours of Eldora come up. No, I didn't post a midget photo, but I have a few othersfrom that night, and here they are.

My favorite shot of him and his father that night. These guys are a couple of cleaner ones.
