The Montpelier Motor Speedway is seeking car owners/drivers of midgets, spec engine midgets, and wingless mini-sprints who are interested in attending a meeting to discuss possible plans for a midget class in 2012. We are looking to discuss rules, payout, scheduling (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.), etc… along with seeing the actual interest in starting this class at the speedway for 2012. Track owner, Harold Hunter, is very open to this class at this point and is actively seeking your input and support. The Montpelier Motor Speedway is a weekly Saturday night track with several weekend of double shows.

If you are interested or able/ to attend a meeting, please send an email to bemcevoy@yahoo.com or PM Me expressing your interest along with a date in November that you would be available to meet.

If we receive enough interest, I will send you an email with the time, date, and location of the meeting. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in the class, please let them know. Thanks again.

Hold the meeting at the Rumble at Fort Wayne. Good time would be around 1 PM when there is plenty of down time for the midgets.

Thanks for getting something like this started.

Fort Wayne makes sense to me. It would also would be a good Idea to contact Bill May, Jerry Tague and the people at Waynsfield about schedule working between the three 1000cc and 1200cc sprint clubs might get dates on off dates to give everyone a chance to race up there. I know the MMSA people really enjoyed themselves up there. I think it is the perfect size track for our cars to compete with midgets on and make for a good race.

PS. I still need my transponder

What would a good weekly payout be?
I would think $1,000 to win & $175 to start or $1,100 to win & $200 to start would be a good starting point for racing midgets weekly in 2012. Who else has an opinion on weekly payouts for full size Midgets?

You pay 200 to start and you'll have a full field each week. Right now mini are running for 50

You looking to mix them together or the midgets as a class and mini's another? There is alot of down time for the midgets at the Rumble but the minis would not have that time since they run all there stuff in line with the karts, 1/4 midgets, sidewinders, etc.

check with Tony Barhorst on the down time when everyone could attend. Even 7:30 in the morning would work or Thursday afternoon before practice.
