BLOCKBUSTER SPEEDROME RADIO SHOW KICKED-OFF HALL OF FAME WEEKEND

Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome®
Indianapolis, Indiana
July 22, 2011

Tradition and great motorsports entertainment is what the Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome® is famous for. One of the hallmark weekends on the annual schedule is based around our Hall of Fame celebration. It all started with the incredible guest lineup on Thursday’s Speedrome Live radio show on XL950 presented by AT&T Advertising Solutions. It read like a Hall of Fame roster. Championship car builder Bob East, star driver Bobby East, and the legendary John Andretti joined hosts Kevin O’Neal and Al Stilley for this fantastic broadcast. The night did not stop there as we released the name of our next Hall of Fame inductee Tommy St John. This was just the start of the great weekend which contains racing Friday and Saturday night at 7pm.

Famed car builder Bob East and star driver Bobby East were our first guests. Bob talked about his 3-car effort for the upcoming Pure Power Technologies & UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic for the USAC Mopar National Midget Series at the Speedrome on Friday July 29th. That driver lineup includes Bobby, young gun Kyle O’Gara, and a surprise famous third pilot. Bob reinforced his previous remarks that if you can race well at the Speedrome, you can be successful anywhere. His thoughts were that the tight fifth-mile bullring teaches a driver the skills needed to reach the highest levels of motorsports. His BEAST chassis cars have proved that winning more championships than any other over the past 3 decades.

Bobby East is excited about returning to his racing roots at the Speedrome. This all-star racer made his move from the quarter Midgets to Kenyon and full size Midgets at the eastside Indianapolis track. He learned the techniques needed to move on to championships in the USAC Mopar National Midget Series and eventually success in the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck classes. The younger East voiced how the previous evening’s USAC program got his blood pumping for July 29th. Bobby is currently in the hunt for several USAC open wheel crowns in 2011 all across America.

1983 Speedrome USAC Midget champion John Andretti joined us as well. The son of racing mastermind Aldo Andretti has been excited about the next generation Jarrett who competes in the USAC Ford Focus division here on Wednesday nights. John made the announcement exclusively on Speedrome Live about Jarrett’s debut in the USAC Mopar National Midget Series at the Speedrome on Friday July 29th. He talked about how special the Speedrome has been to his career and what it means to the next Andretti racer. Jarrett has been oh so close to victory and hopes to take that first win on the same track as his dad back in 1983.

I'm looking forward to being there. It's going to be a great show. Thanks for the shout out to Kyle O'Gara, a great young talent. He took an Elite Mopar D-1 feature win at the Speedrome earlier this season

Seen alot of great races over the years there and loved racing there too! The Speedrome needs revived bigtime! The crowds have been down for many years and it wont get any better unfortunately, scheduling on the same night as the Truck Race at IRP. It is a shame.

The stock car crowds are good there. And i'm not sure scheduling on the same night as some pick up truck race will deter too many fans from attending.I mean this is the Mel Kenyon classic lest we forget. The man is a living legend.

EAST ENTERPRISES HAS 3 CARS FOR SPEEDROME USAC UAW KENYON CLASSIC

Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome®
Indianapolis, Indiana
July 25, 2011

This Friday night July 29th is a big one at the Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome®. We are proud to welcome back the USAC Mopar National Midget series on that special evening. They will be competing in the Pure Power Technologies & UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic. Former winners of this honored event include familiar names Irwin, Stewart, Bliss, Newman, Hines, and Leffler. Looking to join this impressive list are three drivers racing for Bob East and East Enterprises. Former National champion Bobby East along with rising stars Kyle O’Gara and Jarett Andretti are set for this century-length event. For the first-time in over 6 years, the best and brightest open wheel stars from around the country will compete on the famous fifth-mile. This will be that National Midgets 43rd appearance at the Speedrome dating back to the inaugural on August 3, 1958.

Bobby East has dazzled fans with his hard-charging driving style at the Speedrome and tracks all across the country. The 26-year-old Brownsburg, Indiana driver has 3 feature victories on the famous fifth-mile in USAC Mopar D1 Midget competition. East earned the USAC National championship in 2004. His victory resume includes some of the biggest open wheel events around. The younger East has taken his talents to other motorsports successes too. Over the past half decade, he has made many starts in ARCA, NASCAR Camping World Truck, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Of those, he was most successful in the trucks finishing a best of 8th twice for Roush Fenway Racing.

Teenage sensation Kyle O’Gara has been sharpening his racing skills at the Speedrome the last couple of seasons in USAC Ford Focus and now USAC D1 Midgets. The Sarah Fisher Racing development driver has been under the tutelage of the legendary Bob East as well. Kyle won his initial Speedrome feature on June 1, 2011 in the tough D1 division. O'Gara began his racing career at just four years old racing karts at Whiteland Raceway Park. In his young age, he has participated in several .25 Midget events, National Karting events, captured three karting championships, and finished third in points in his first season racing in the USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Series just last year.

The name Andretti is one of the most familiar in all of motorsports. The next generation family racer is Jarett, the son of 1983 Speedrome track champion John Andretti. Jarett will be making his very first USAC Mopar National Midget Series start this Friday in the Mel Kenyon Classic. This young gun has been rising through the ranks of USAC’s Ford Focus Midgets in 2011. He has 3 feature wins this year and a plethora of podium results. His point totals are currently good enough for 2nd in the Eastern standings, 5th in the Midwest listings, and is in the hunt for overall National honors. Jarett is also aiming to achieve victory on the same track as his dad.

Tickets are on sale now for this tremendous event. Adult general admission tickets are just $15 with children ages 6-11 just $6 while kids 5 & under are free. You can charge by phone at (317) 353-8206 or stop in the Speedrome pit office on the night of any racing event. This ticket price is the best price in the country to see these USAC Mopar National Midget series speedsters in action. We are very excited to have them here. The Speedrome has hosted nearly 500 USAC sanctioned events which is far and away more than any other track in the world.

Not real sure why this same exact post keeps coming up? Other than the fact that it puts this thread back to the top so people will keep looking at it.
