Is anyone going to update us here on the races for the midget and silver crown at the Milwaukee Mile tonight?

Hagan wins midget race over Caleb Armstrong. BC finished 16 ahead of East who broke coming out of four on the last lap. BC never got going and started smoking about half way.

Hamilton third and Santos fouth I think. They have a nice scoring pylon but it is dark for the USAC racers.

They turned on the pylon about six laps into the Silver crown race. Yellow at lap 25 for wreck in turn one

Fantastic races in my opinion, especially silver crown. Hines and Fike had a nasty crash, but walked away. Think I heard Hines may have a concussion. Bobby east was the MAN tonight. They restarted him third after the first caution- not sure why, he led the lap before the caution. Then they sent him to the back after the Hines Fike wreck. Again. Not sure why but it was a lot of fun watching him work his way to the point for the next 35 laps. There was lots of good racing throughout the field. Coons taking over 2nd with 4 to go was good, especially since it took about 15 laps to get around. Just a really really exciting night!

The first time they sent East to the back was for jumping the green flag start going from 5th to 1st. The second time he got sent to the tail when the yellow came out again he flipped off one of the USAC officials I assume upset over the previous call and they sent him to the tail. I was listening to all this on the USAC frequency on my scanner so it is first hand info. Hell it made for some good racing though as East was on a mission and still took the win. I would say a great crowd on hand.

That's all it takes these days? To the back? Wow, some officials are definitely thin-skinned. Back in the day, half the field would be restarting from the back in half the shows.

Thanks for the info about the crowd. I've been waiting for somebody to rip on me for not being there since it's only an hour away.

According to today's (6/19), Mke Journal Bobby East's comments are, "The calls USAC makes are just so shaky that I was really worried about them shortening this race because of daylight." Also in the story,East was called for jumping the start and then sent to the back after gesturing at an official.--------- I wonder if those remarks are going to cost Bobby.
