CRASH PUTS RB MOTORSPORTS ON THE SIDELINES!
(Charlotte, NC, May 4, 2011) After a good start to the evening last Saturday at the Road to the Jack Hewitt Classic event at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway, a lap one crash in the main event has put the RB Motorsports #1B on the sidelines until a new car is constructed.
With talented Pittsboro, Indiana driver Justin Marvel in the driver's seat, the night started off great when the 2005 King of Indiana Sprint Car Series champion was fast qualifier in the 21-car field with a sizzling 15.438. The veteran diver finished sixth in the dash and started outside the third row for the main event.
The high hopes of the team and its fans were quickly dashed soon after the green flag when Marvel was hit from behind and launched into a series of flips. Fortunately, the popular driver was uninjured in the tangle, but the same could not be said for the car. "The crash pretty much destroyed everything," RB Motorsports owner Russell Bliss said. "We are done for awhile. There wasn't much left, but I am going to bring everything home (North Carolina) and build another car."
For the 2011 campaign the blue RB Motorsports #1B Sprint Car is sponsored by Triple X Racing Components, VP Racing Fuels, Hoosier Tires, R&B Truckers, Hinchman Uniforms and Dave with Smoker's Choice. If you or your company would like to be a part of this top rated team, please call Russell Bliss at: (909) 731-3296.
