CARA Family Night at the Shelby County Fairgrounds

The Midwest TQ Racing League™ presented by Vincennes University makes their final appearance of 2010 at the Shelby County Fairgrounds on September 11th. Saturday’s race is CARA Family Night and the Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary will be selling tickets as a fundraiser for their organization. CARA promotes auto racing by engaging in community projects that benefit childrens safety and well-being (www.caracharities.org).

The Shelbyville track is popular with the MTQRL drivers and has produced great three quarter midget racing and an excellent turnout of cars this season. Shelbyville drivers expected to compete include Joe Miller, Will Nedderman and Jamie Ross. Other local drivers should include Manilla’s Kyle Lux, Greenfield’s CJ Leary, and Tate Martz and Will Wilson from Rushville.

A full racing program of qualifications, trophy dash, two rounds of heat races, a B main (if needed) and a 25 lap feature are on tap. Activities will begin with practice at 5:00 pm followed by qualifications at 6:00 pm. The Miller family (driver Joe, sister Joanie and mother Martha) will perform the National Anthem at 7:00 pm and racing will begin immediately after. During intermissions music will be provided by Side Affect, a teen band from Indianapolis.

Tickets are $8 for adults (12 and over), $5 for children and 6 and under are free.

Cool artwork, Janet, I'm lucky to draw my breath! Looks like this wet stuff might be moving out, if Shelbyville didn't get dumped on, we might be good to go, and thank's to Gary Lee, we have some additional entertainment for the fans, and racers, he really works his butt off to provide extra things to make the evening worth more. See ya'll, hopefully, this afternoon. Bob

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the ladies from CARA that attended the Shelbyville race Saturday night. I had a great time talking with them and love the tree ornament I bought!!
