June 7, 2010 - Anderson, IN - Former Beaver Dam (WI) Raceway builder and owner, Gary Schlafer, today unveiled details of the newly created Great American Motorsport Exposition. The new trade show/ fan fest/ parts sale is set for this Thanksgiving November 26-28, 2010 in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Schlafer, who has been active in auto racing in several capacities for nearly fifty years, explained details of the event. " This will be a celebration of Motorsport " explained Schlafer. " The Great American Motorsport Exposition will be about connecting the fans that support our sport with those involved in the creation and production of the exciting events we so enjoy. The event will include race tracks, race drivers, racing celebrities, sanctioning bodies, promoters, manufactures, service providers, media, sponsors, and more ".
" We look forward to this event that will feature just about every imaginable form of motorsport discipline. It will include everything from amateur to professional: Stock cars, Late Models, Modifieds, Drag cars, Drifters, Monster Trucks, Off Road Racers, Midgets, Go Karts, 1/4 Midgets, Sprint cars, Figure 8, Legends, Super Modifieds, Auto cross, Mini Sprints, Mod Lights, and more" concluded Schlafer.
A huge sale is also planned as well as several interactive themed events for all race fans young and old. Racing celebrities and dignitaries will also be on hand along with cars on display of previous and current champions and winners from virtually every type of racing machine.
It is believed this will be the largest show of its type in North America. Typically in past years fans have been excluded from industry shows as they have been reserved for people within the industry. This could possibly be one of the only trade shows with the fan in mind. Officials have indicated a full list of tracks and sanctioning bodies already committed will be released in the coming days at the official website of the show
