the purse looked like this? I think I would be willing to pay $25-$30 per race if I knew it was going to the drivers/teams/owners. If the average crowd at a USAC sprint show was 3,000 people and you increased the ticket price $5, that would cover $15,000 of this $22,000 purse. I may just be dreaming, but does anyone have any thoughts?

I don't know what the breakdown is but we are already at $5K to win if I remember right. But yes, I would pay more as USAC is the best IMO.

I would definitely pay $5 more at the gate if the purse were increased substantially; like 40-50% more. Or, how bout a third more, plus tow money for the little guy.

If someone has the breakdown of the USAC purse, please post it, I would love to look at it. I thought that most standard USAC Sprint shows paid $4k to win.

Well considering that I spent $23 (reserved at TSS) to watch the Hut 100, and to watch USAC or MSCS from the covered grandstands at THAT is $25, we are pretty much there anyway, so yes.

I think WingsAreForCheaters is pretty spot on when he says that a $5 gate increase should equal a minimum of $15,000 (if the promoter has done his work beforehand, of course.). So, if you add that $15,000 directly to the $20,600 standard purse, it now becomes a $35,600 purse. That's a nearly 58% increase! Wow!?
Here's what a $35,600 purse might look like:
1-$7,893
2-$3,946
3-$1,973
4-$1,578
5-1420
6-1263
7-1105
8-1026
9-986
10-947
11-947
12-868
13-789
14-710
15-670
16-22=$632
Now, that just even dispursement, I know they're not nice round numbers, but hey, that'd be a pretty decent standard payout.
