Jim thanks for sharing, I never went to either of those tracks. I sure do like some of those pavement paint schemes though.
I just looked at my 2002 edition of the National Speedway directory in my truck, there was 1423 in North America. The 2006 edition in my car has 1417 tracks. The 2010 edition comes out soon with listings for 1380 tracks. Anybody know how many tracks there were in 80-90's?

I was in 4 H in the late 50`s and had a calf that I was to show during fair week.
My dad & I went to the races at warsaw every sat night all season long.
During fair week I had to show my calf on that wed. night. As I was trying to
do my best to concenteate on the task at hand, those race car`s that I seen every
week all summer were racing, and I could only hear them .
What a long night that was.

Man i sure do miss Warsaw Speedway. I live 2 to 3 blocks from the track, never been back on the fairgrounds after they closed the track. I can remeber going to Avilla 4 to 5 years and watching the SOD NATIONALS or AVILLA NATIONALS something like that. They allways had a bunch of cars. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I went to both tracks.
I grew up around Warsaw and ran the lineups from the tower to the pits the last two years it was open. I still have a folder with a lot of the original scripts in it.
I went to Avilla a couple of times in '88, more on pavement after Warsaw closed.
Thanks for putting up the pictures.
It's time to go racing.

Even though it most likely hasn't been ran in years, the Warsaw speedway still appears to be intact.
Take a look on google maps....

I do have a question pertaining to Avilla. It is my understanding that the first "Hoosier Fall Classic" was held there in either 82, 83, or 84. Someone correct me if I am wrong about this.
