A few photos from my photo collection from Oswego Speedway, New York 1964/1965. Many of the Indy roadsters as many of us know were bought and converted to supermodifieds. I have photos not only from my collection but form other sources as well, of these "Grand Ole' Cars - the Indy Roadsters'" - converted to supermodifieds. Where these cars are today, I have no idea.

A few from my collection are below.

Have a good day...see you at the races

Photos by Rich - Arnold, Missouri

Dick Debold - Michigan or Ohio I do believe

Joe Martnicic - Ohio

Gordon Dukes - Ohio

Tom Straley - Michigan NOTE: Federal Engineering Spl maybe. I will ask Tom about this when I see talk to him again. It is barely readible but the original - it looks like it could be the Federal Engineering Spl - what ever it is specal is still on the side of the car I also do believe.

Leo Caldwell - Ohio

What a tragedy, that many of the beautiful INDY roadsters fell into the hands of metal butchers and were mutilated into supermodifieds. Fortunately, most of them have been recovered and, at great expense, have been restored for all of us to see and enjoy.........

Thanks Rich for sharing these great photos, regardless of what Mac Miller has to say this was the era that you and I both enjoyed growing up in Oswego. An I think it is safe to say this was the era that fueled both of our passions for the love of Indy Car Racing. A passion we both still have today!

How dare someone take an old race car and ummm RACE it! Thanks for posting the photos Rich. By the way mac; those folks you called "butchers", most people referred to them as "racers".
