Got on the USAC website to make sure I had the date right to book My hotel room for Milwaukee. To My surprise that race is gone from the schedule. Anybody know what happened? I haven't read or heard anything about that race being dropped from the schedule. Man I think USAC is doing some kind of research for the government to see how far they can go to piss off certain segments of society to test our tolerance to socialism.

According to Chris Economaki's latest column, there might be trouble brewing at the Mile, between the track management and city leaders. Hopefully everything will work out! Only time will tell...

In the for what it's woth column, I was in Milwaukee three weeks ago, and other than the race track and casino, Milwaukee is a nasty place. They would do well to bulldoze most of it and start over. Oh, the ball park was pretty nice too. That town is full of homeless beggars and boarded up businesses. The last thing they should do is give one of its crown jewels a hard time.

I believe the State Fair Board just put in a new operator with a new lease arrangement. The Milwaukee Journal said a 10 year deal was inked a few months back

When I looked at the Milwaukee Mile website back in Febuary and March...there was never anything listed about the Silver Crown race. All that was listed for that date was a late model race featuring matt kenseth and the legends of Wisconsin. I made the comment to a friend about wondering if this race would happen. I remember the last couple of Silver crown races at Milwaukee and the grandstand crowd was very slim.

Milwaukee is one of the the most storied tracks on the USAC Schedule, but that facility has had problems for about as long as I have been alive. It is always in flux and there is always controversy there. It is a shame because I love racing there, but that is one of those facilities that I don't understand how it keeps going and why it keeps going. It's a shame.

As far as beggers and boarded up businesses go, look around....... that is everywhere today. From L.A. to N.Y and everywhere in between.
