Seen a tweet from Chet Christner posting some info about Ventura fair board is facing a offer from sports group and in the offer was the removal of the track under a blight rule or something

If anyone can find it and post it. That's be great. I can't now.

Being from Southern California I know a little something about this. The Ventura County Fairgrounds is actually on private property. The family that owns the property made an agreement with Ventura County to build its fairgrounds there many years ago. The property is now in a trust and in the writing for the use of this property, the family stated that there must always be a racetrack there. If the racetrack gets closed, the property goes back to the trust. Ventura County will lose their fairgrounds and at the prices for acreage there they would not be able to buy county land for a new fairgrounds.

If you look in your mirror and see a line of cars behind you, be kind and pull over.

There's also a upcoming vote on Callistoga as to if the city can buy the fairground from the county.

Another fairgrounds situation that even after Abreu Farms put a few million in it for lighting and fencing is not running now..

The group bringing this offer forward has already been rejected one time. Hopefully, the same will happen again.
