In an otherwise crappy year, the BSU football team has been a highlight. Being a grad and having witnessed some bad teams it is nice to see so many wins and having them on TV has been a bonus. I hope this sets a tone for many more wins in the years to come.

Agreed. I think it's BS they won't get a sniff of the title this year, should they win tonight and go undefeated. I don't see why there can't be a playoff of the top eight teams plus any Div. 1 team that should happen to go undefeated.
If you beat every team on your schedule, no matter who you beat, I think you should at least have a shot.

First off, congrats to UB for putting together a solid season and championship that most would have never thought possible. Hope they get to keep their coach, but when you got names like Auburn knocking on your door.....
Turner Gill is just another example of how the right coach can take a program and turn it into a contender. Just like Jim Grobe at Wake Forest did and what David Cutcliffe is doing at Duke.
As far as Ball State "showing their true colors", jeez louise. Show me any program that wouldn't be happy to finish the season 12-1. They have nothing to hang their heads. BTW, this was only the MACS Championship game, not a bowl game. They'll still go to a bowl. Matter of fact, ESPN is now saying the Motor City Bowl.
Buffalo may have had five losses going into tonight, but their only blowout was against #5 Missouri and even then they managed to put three TD's on the board. They lost to Pitt by 11, W.Michigan by 6 in OT and the other two games were less than a FG. They could have easily come into tonight's game 10-2.

Yeah, the local college hasn't won a football game in 2 and half years (Indiana State).

I've said it all year to people that wanted to tell me that BS was the real deal. Play a real school and see what happens. Good grief, I'm a huge Bucks fan, and we couldn't even beat an SEC team. You want to see what happens when a school like Ball plays say a Florida or Alabama... Go to last year when Hawaii got a shot in a BCS game.

I have loved watching Ball State football this season. They really were a bright spot to college football in Indiana, as someone mentioned. Are they tough enough to get in a BCS bowl game? Doubtful. Would almost any of the Top 10 schools beat BSU? For sure. You can't overlook a great season and the fact that they're fun to watch.
The Cardinals made a lot of mistakes last night. All were mistakes that they normally do not make. It cost them the game and Buffalo capitalized, which they deserve the credit. However, whoever was in the booth doing the "Official Review" was horrible. They blew two calls that broke the back of Ball State, in my opinion. Lewis had a touchdown with ball and foot crossing the goal line. This would have put BSU up by two TD's. Two plays later, a fumble returned for a TD. A series or two later, a completed pass to Orsbon was overturned. A crappy call again, which led to a fumble by Davis that was returned for a TD, again. Yes, they shouldn't have fumbled, but they shouldn't have been in that situation, period.
