Just got off the phone with Jiggs and he asked me to announce that Leroy Battieger will be taking over the track promoter duties for the 2009 season. Leroy has been with Gas City I69 Speedway the past several years working as a Pit Steward for the Sprint Car division.

Good News, I've only been there once since I'm from Kentucky but it's always good to see sprint car tracks staying in business. Best of luck in 09.

Good news! :thumb I only wish being from Michigan that the good state of Indiana would go back to est time so we could make hot-laps and or the 1st heat. And of course the track is so much better with sun down.

Great choice.. But if he is reading this, I have 1 ***** about the whole place. Here goes: I think there are a lot of paying customers that DO NOT like the free reserved seating for the year. If someone puts down a "seat" they should be there every week , it really keeps alot of people that would otherwise attend a show when their schedule permits away knowing the top 2 rows are already taken. Do as other tracks do and open the gates 2-3 hours before the first race or better yet open the gates at noon as TRI-STATE does on raceday. Even though TRI-STATis 3-4 hours away, I know if I make the effort to get there early I have a chance at a good seat. o.k. I'm through bitchin'. Good Luck and I am happy that we still have racin' on Friday nites in central Indiana.Hope everyone has a good holiday season..

I noticed in Irwindale, they have reserved and general seats at two different prices. If people want the same seats every week, they should buy reserved seats and they could show up whenever they want. This would work the same way for you, buy a reserved seat a few weeks before and then you save yourself from wasting an entire day just so you can get a good seat.

The biggest step forward I could see is replacing or reworking that grandstand. OUCH!

That being said, Its better to have racing at GC than no racing at all.
Congrats.
