Why do most midgets use coil overs & sprints use torsion bars?
Also, what kind of gear ratios do they run at Chili Bowl? How about bigger outdoor tracks?

Some is driver preference. The coils react a bit quicker and the midget are more fidgety so to speak. Gear at Tulsa I’m not sure about. T-mez chili bowl car was 4 coil which is super rare on the dirt. When pavement was more common you saw four coil more often.

I have ran a 7:31gear ratio with a Fontana engine at the chili bowl and a 5:80 at Lawrenceburg with the same engine.
