I've been to the state fairgrounds plenty of time for big car and sprint races and was wondering if anyone watches the race's from the infield and if so how is it? I've always sat in the grandstand but was curious if there's a discount ticket for the infield like Terre Haute? Thanks for the info

Last year was the only time I've been, and if I remember correctly, the infield ticket is significantly cheaper than a grandstand seat. I'm thinking my infield ticket was 15, and the seats were 30+? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I'm remembering.

Watching from down there is okay. It's awesome when they come by you, but it's a bummer when you see a position has changed and you're not sure what happened. I walked around to check out the different views, so that was cool, but being a mile track it obviously takes a bit longer. I'd say stick with buying a seat in the stands, wish I would've last year.

We've sat in the infield for years. Granted, we are standing on the bed of our truck, but we can see nearly the whole track. We also get there for hot laps, so it's fun to see them haul it into turn one standing right next to the track.

Is there a a.m./f.m. or scanner frequency to hear the PA announcer for the Hoosier 100 ?

we have picked up p.a. on radio in the infield during qualifying. I usually watch warm-ups and quals from infield then go to the stands for the races. turns 2 and 3 are good viewing from infield. I think if you buy a grandstand ticket you can go to the infield.
