I am very excited about Fernando Alonso competing in this year's 500. However, how is it that he gets a test day tomorrow at Speedway.I thought all tests in Indycar were sanctioned by them, Firestone, Chevrolet, or Honda. In other words , no private testing. If I am wrong , correct me. This isn't a tweaking of the rules because of Fernando's status. Is it.

A previous world champion and current F1 driver is passing up Monaco to race the 500. A few million more people around the world will likely tune in to the race. It will give Indycar a huge boost in the arm. Good for Indiana, good for American open wheel. I would not care if they gave him every day for an extra month of testing more than anybody else. This is the kind of history making moments like when Mario would race(and won) the Daytona 500. Hope he can run competitively with Penske in an Andretti car.
