Jeff Gordon racing at the Class Track in 1987 with Miss Tri-State Speeday Sharon Bumm. Did you see him race at Haubstadt?

Check Jeff rocking the Ceaser Haircut,**** 'Stach,Old School Valvoline Hat,European/Indy Car style leg cuffs and driving a Gambler.
I would bet what little I have that he hasn't seen a uniform that dirty with his name on it in quite some time. The real questions that need to be asked is where is Sharon Bumm these days, is she still got groupie/mall hair and just when the hell did it become unfashionable for the track girl to be wearing a one piece with stockings, heels and a bow tie. Man I loved the 80's. |

I believe Jeff did win a feature at Haubstadt. I am not sure if it was with this car or not though.

as much as i despise jeff gordon i think that he is one of the more talented drivers, and that he could put a sprinter around most any track, look what he did at the prelude to the dream.

i also think that tony stewart could put a car around tri-state with some serious speed as well i think that nascar should run some nonwing dirt shows, and maybe i would watch it then. and show who the real drivers are

I think the competition he ran against was more than capable. Vogler,Hewitt,Fox,Knepper,Eric Gordon etc...weren't too bad.
Like him; Don't like him, Jeff Gordon is hands down one of the best. I don't believe you will find one guy who raced against him who doesn't agree with that. His numbers aren't huge because he didn't stay around long enough, but he has won in every USAC division on both surfaces. He lapped up to Second at the Belleville Midget Nationals and was trailing Second place Knepper to the line. Because he doesn't come around and he doesn't own teams, people don't hold Jeff in as high regard as Stewart and they choose to forget his accomplishments and I get that, but I firmly believe that there is no one in USAC or the local scene right now at his level of talent. Dave and Jon are special and Tracy Hines is the most well rounded driver as far as dirt/pavement wins and different divisions. Bryan Clausen had some of the excitement as seeing Gordon because of his age and ability and Cole Whitt is getting there, but there is no one who reaches Gordons level. That's still a good list though. |
