Not the way we wanted to end the night, and it looks like the season; hit a massive hole in turn 4 on the first lap of the feature, then another in one. The rough track was nobody's fault really, just the product of so much rain this year pooling deep under the racing surface. One impact or the other, or both, snapped the front bolt on the wishbone which dug into the track and wrapped around the nerf bar, pulling the axle forward and smashing the seat tube with the sprocket carrier. The wishbone bolt spud cracked too, so there's a lot to do with only one race left. Think it's time to regroup, reassess and rebuild, nail down the electrical gremlins and come out of the gate strong next year.
Thanks to Harold and Lori, and everyone at Montpelier for giving us a great place to race. Here's to less rain, smoother clay and more fun in 2017.
