THORSON THE NEW INDIANA MIDGET POINT LEADER AFTER TAKING PLYMOUTH “HUMP DAY” OPENER

Tanner Thorson of Minden, Nev. led an unprecedented 1-2-3-4-5 Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports sweep of the top five spots in last Wednesday night's 5IVE-6IX "Hump Day Summer Series" opener for the USAC Indiana Midget Championship at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway.

Thorson passed teammate Spencer Bayston on lap 17 and led the rest of the way in his TRD/JBL Audio Bullet/Speedway Toyota. Carson Macedo took second ahead of Bayston, Ryan Robinson and Holly Shelton.

It marked the first time a single team has ever swept the top five spots in a USAC Midget feature event.

Thorson now leads the USAC Indiana Midget Championship points standings by six markers over teammate Spencer Bayston with two of the series’ seven season races now completed.*

The Indiana Midgets resume action Wednesday, July 20 in their return to Plymouth Speedway for the second of three “Hump Day Summer Series” races.
