I thought this place was long gone. I discovered it while looking at the SOD website. SOD is scheduled to run there this year.

If you mean "done" as in closed, you are probably thinking Cherry Raceway.

Michigan Dirt Cup Mods are running there as well. Also, GLSS said they are having their season finale there.

The owner is Tom Sprague. The family has been involved with racing along time. His brother Jack is the Nascar driver. They own a local auto salvage yard. I would think that if they are behind getting the track up and running, it will happen. Land in the area is not that in demand. Sorry Muskegon lol. I can remember going in the old days and watching drag races on the drag strip behind the track. If I remember it was a 1/8 mile that ran in the daytime before the night races at the dirt track. I would think about turning it into a sand drag track.

The last time I was there was in 2010, I believe. That year, the Michigan Traditional Sprints had five races scheduled there. After the second one, the owner at the time was losing money and tried to stiff them on the purse. The series eventually worked it out, got their money, and subsequently the rest of the races that season for MTS there were nixed.

I never went back after that.

Good to see a new owner in Sprague. It might be a basic little dirt track, but for those with kids, Michigan's Adventure (waterpark/amusement park) is right next door.
