Good morning guys.
I was wondering if over the winter/off season if anyone around Columbus Indiana would be interested in part time shop help when I'm not doing anything around my own house. I'm an experienced mechanic by trade(I'm the heavy duty cylinder head rebuilder at the Cummins Technical Center [I've been with the company for 6 years now]). I have 4 years owner operator experience in dirt karting. I'm currently between divisions trying to save for a mini(lightning) sprint. If interested, please PM me. Also on the days/evenings that his mom has to work, I'll have a 3 year old with me, who might I say is very excited about race cars(I'm raising him right). Thank you in advance and I hope to hear back.

Add to this, I'm not looking to be paid for my help. I'm just volunteering in my leisure time.

You are using IOW just the way it should be used. You have a desire to be around race cars, and are looking for a guy with race cars that need help and can't afford to go out and hire some one. There would have to be several hundred of both types of people reading IOW right now with the same desires. Were you about 60 miles south on I-65 I would take your offer in a heart beat. I am guessing there are several people up and around Columbus that could probably use an extra hand also. Hope you find someone. They would be getting an excellent team mate and one with real knowledge . Honest Dad himself ![]() ![]()

While I understand that my screen name can be a little off putting. I mean who wants to have someone who claims to be unlucky helping them. Allow me to explain the rather simple history behind it. My first year racing karts I just couldn't catch a break for anything. My first race out I got caught up in a crash that happened in front of me in the first lap of the feature(dnf). My second race pretty much the same thing happened, so I chose this name as my screen name on 4cycle(go karting forum similar to IOW) as a parody and it stuck so I just kept it. In reality though I'd consider myself to be the exact opposite where as I feel that I'm actually rather lucky even if I haven't won the lottery. I mean at 24 I have a career of 6 years with a reputable company. The only debt that I have currently is my mortgage. I'm going back to school in January for a degree in mechanical engineering. How many other people of my age would you say have their lives together like I do?

Hi, Casey:
I've been living here since Eastbrook Plaza was a cornfield, to give you an idea. I'd suggest contacting Columbus racers. I can PM you at least a partial list. Good luck.
