CRA VISITS SANTA MARIA & PERRIS THIS WEEKEND

Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. leads the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars to back-to-back races this Friday and Saturday night at Santa Maria and Perris, Calif. His point lead is only 38 over Matt Mitchell and 40 over Damion Gardner as he seeks a record sixth championship.*

All three drivers must keep an eye out for Richard Vander Weerd who has scored three wins in five starts this year at the half-mile dirt oval. He is currently fifth in the point tally. Gardner won the other two and is seeking a fourth series crown.

Vander Weerd also owns a 2015 Santa Maria victory, which came in the West Coast series in April.*

Saturday night’s race is the “Firecracker 40” at Perris. Gardner won last year’s “Firecracker 40” and now has 60 career USAC/CRA triumphs.*
