2012 R1 on Methanol in a Hench car with the triple pass radiator ,never over heats always around 220 with the fan on. Any advantage running with out the thermostat , or does it make any difference at all ???????

The thermostat helps to slow the water flow down and to regulate the temoerature to give it time to cool....Hope that helps..

Had a thermo last season with my 2012 stick close. Always run without one now and car usually runs about 205-210. Most guys around us take them out

We have always ran with one and was curious what others were doing and how they made out . Might give it a try without one just to see what it does .....thanks

We always leave the thermostat housing in place, however we take the spring and center guts out of it . This leaves some restriction in the flow but the oppurtunity for it to stick close is not there as there is no operating mechanisims in there .

replace thermostat with 1/2" fender washer, also put small hole on side of washer (like thermostat has) to remove all trapped air
