One final thought on Smackdown. Lost in the accomplishments of DD was the performance Ballou put in. He continued his red hot summer with podiums each "night". He ran DD down on Sunday from about a straightaway behind. As good as DD is at Kokomo that is saying something. It may have been even more interesting if not for the late yellow. You always know he will give it all he has and sometimes a bit more.

RB has ran good all summer & has ran exceptionally well in the last month or so. The dude is definitely a gasser & a pretty humble guy to boot.

He was on kill the last 10 or so laps!!! The yellow was a bad deal for Robert.

He just might have got Dave. Way to go Robert!

He is a fun guy to watch and one of the few who still tell it like it is. He's got my vote!

His car isn't flashy & he isn't flashy but he's got balls of steel. He puts his money into the car, not into the fancy frills. And you have to love his political INcorrectness in this day & age !

The madman stopped by the camper I was at, walks up starts a B S session that lasted 30min. When he told us his chassis is 9 years old and motor on race 26 cause it's all he has makes it look even better. We got our Madman shirts this year, others need to also he is a racer of the old days doing it out of his wallet and taking what he has and getting every thing he can from it.

I think it's the Ultimate compliment that guys like Robert, J Coons, Brad Sweet, Nathan Moore and many others come to the great state of Indiana to practice their skills of driving sprint cars....it's pretty kool to see these guys living the dream.
