PAVEMENT MIDGET ROUND 3 & HPDs SLATED AUGUST 16 AT KALAMAZOO

Kalamazoo, MI........The third round of the 2014 Honda USAC Pavement Midget series is scheduled August 16 at Kalamazoo Speedway. The "doubleheader" also includes the USAC HPD Midwest Pavement Midgets on the 3/8-mile paved oval.

Tracy Hines of New Castle, Ind. captured the opening Pavement Midget race May 24 - the annual "Night Before the 500" classic in Indianapolis, and as a result leads the point standings going into the Kalamazoo race. Kyle O'Gara and Derek Bischak are in hot pursuit. In the HPD Midgets. Austin Nemire of Toledo, Ohio is the current point leader after winning five of the first seven races of the campaign. Nemire won at Kalamazoo on May 31. The USAC history at Kalamazoo dates all the way back to 1960 when Gene Hartley was the Midget race winner.
