3RD ANNUAL “SUMMER SLAM” SATURDAY AT CANYON

USAC Southwest Sprint Car point leaders R.J. Johnson and Charles Davis Jr. continue their battle for the 2014 series championship in this Saturday’s 3rd Annual “Summer Slam” at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.

Davis trails by only 19 points with 74 available at Peoria. Josh Pelkey, third in the standings, could prove the spoiler as the series progresses. He’s only 33 points out of the lead entering Saturday’s race.

Johnson has seven podium finishes already this year, with four wins, two seconds and a third. Davis has three wins and a second, while Pelkey has three wins, a second and four thirds.
