This was at Anderson 1972. Probably an ASA sprint sanctioned race.

Yep, uncle Buck is right.

He was a great driver and I always remember how he sat so straight up in the car and not hunched over like most. I recall him winning a race at Kokomo on 7 cylinders. The track was so hard and slick, he just drove smooth and on the bottom.

I also remember his wife Betty who was a very nice and sweet person.

It's interesting that you mention the upright driving style, George. Ever since I was a small child, my father has had an Ezra Brooks decanter that is a ceramic replica of the Ezra Brooks Special, driven by Bobby Black. A Grant King car, I believe. The one thing that sticks out about the driver, in this car, is how straight up he's sitting. That thing's been on dad's mantle for 40 years and looks just as good as it did, back in the 70's.

Bobby Black was one of the smoothest drivers I have ever had the pleasure of watching!
Years after this picture was taken I got the chance to log some laps in this old sled at Paragon and Putnamville.

OK CAJ how did you post the pic right on your thread? I've not been able to do it and I would like to post more that folks might enjoy.

Thanks!

George,
Go to http://www.imageshack.us/ and it will pretty much walk you through the process.
It isn't that hard if you have them in your computer scanned or uploaded, if it was hard, I couldn't do it!
