The MMSA Lightning Sprint tour headed south this weekend for a double duty weekend.

Even with the rain threatening a nearly full field of cars checked in at the Chandler Motor Speedway. The track crew prepared a very smooth surface, and a max capacity crowd highly anticipated the show that the MMSA has been known to put on.

Heat race action took center stage, with the #77of Lynn Ambrose winning heat number one followed by #36 of Collin Ambrose and the 1jr of Hodge The #86 of Andy Bradley took heat number two followed by Troy Fortune and Chris Baumeyer, however Bradley was later disqualified for a rules infraction and was scored last in the heat.

By feature time the track slicked, and a cushion developed on the top side. The #36 of Collin Ambrose led the field to green, and a battle quickly ensued among the top five. The crowd was on their feet for the intense start as cars filled the narrow turns three and four wide looking for every inch of real estate. Collin Ambrose was able to break free followed by rookie Jake Hodge (#1jr).

Ambrose was able to break free from traffic and pulled a giant lead on the rest of the pack, and remained unchallenged for the rest of the event. Collin Ambrose was followed to the checkers by Bradley who had a big run from 16th to 2nd which earned him the nights Hard Charger Award, Lynn Ambrose was third, Shipman claimed fourth, and Jake Hodge rounded out the top five.

The next stop for the tour brought the MMSA back to the Western Kentucky Speedway. Henderson Chevrolet, GMC, and WKT Trucking boosted the purse to $5,000 dollars that sixteen drivers were very eager to take home.

Heat race action ensued with the #25 of Parker winning heat one followed by #77 of Lynn Ambrose, and the #86 of Bradley.

Heat two was the 10c of Chris Baumeyer, followed by the #37 of Jones, and rounding out third was #36 of Collin Ambrose.

On the initial start Parker suffered a mechanical problem and the field was lined up for a complete restart. This gave the #77 of Ambrose the poll, and on the green he was followed into turn one by Bradley and the #10c of Baumeyer. Lynn Ambrose shot out to the quick lead leaving Bradley and Baumeyer to battle for the 2nd position. A spot which Baumeyer claimed on the next lap. The #49 of rookie Troy Fortune pressured the top 5, but was unable to hold the spot spinning and bringing out a caution. As the #77 of Ambrose checked Doug Jones fought his way up to second but it was too little to late and Ambrose picked up another win. Rookie Mike Miller claimed the Hard Charger advancing the most in the feature event.
