Heat # 2 - Trent Stephens (Ravenna); Denny Fisher (Amherst); Jon Henes (Lagrange); Mike McVetta (Wellington); Brandon Fisher (Amherst)

The Bio Based.US Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) Supermodifieds made their first appearance of the 2014 season to Lorain County Speedway as a part of the Open Wheel Madness show on Saturday June 27, 2014. With two MSA races already in the books, the man to beat so far has been Dave Shullick Jr. Shullick Jr. was not at LCS tonight as he was racing at Oswego Speedway.

In the MSA preliminary events it was Kyle Edwards setting a track record with a time of 11.85. The heat race winners were Charlie Schultz and Trent Stephens. The defending MSA champion Trent Stephens won the thirty lap feature.

The Bio Based US Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) Supermodifieds were now pushed out for their thirty lap feature. In the front row it would be Brandon Fisher and Kevin Jaycox Jr. pacing the field to flagman Will Pattersons green flag. Jon Henes spun in turn two on the first lap bringing out the caution flag for a complete restart. Henes would lead the restart with B. Fisher in second and three wide racing going on behind him. Jim Paller flipped violently going off of turn four on lap five bringing the race to a halt. Paller was not injured.

On the front row for this restart would be Henes and B.Fisher with Henes getting the lead.Veteran driver Denny Fisher advanced from third to second followed by Trent Stephens, Matt Marlowe and B. Fisher. On the move was Stephens as he advanced to second on lap six. The caution flag waved on lap eleven when Kevin Jaycox Jr. spun. This restart running order was Henes, Stephens, D.Fisher, Marlowe and Charlie Schultz.

Stephens took the lead on lap fourteen with the top five running order now being Stephens, Henes, D.Fisher, Schultz and Marlowe. Stephens opened up a comfortable lead over Henes until the caution flag came out on lap 25 when Jaycox Jr. spun into the infield. Stephens led on the restart as another caution flag came out on lap twenty seven for Jaycox Jr.'s spin in turn four. With only three laps to go Trent Stephens, the defending MSA champion would go on to take the checkered flag for his first win of the 2014 season.


Kyle Edwards Set the Record at 11.858

Matt Marlowe was 3rd fast in qualifying just behind 2nd place
