Ed Carpenter, the only driver in the starting field who knows what it's like to win a USAC sprint race at the Salem high banks, set fast time and lead 80 laps of the Hoosier Hundred Silver Crown race until a tire let go, or win several USAC midget features, is on the Pole for the second straight year! Go Ed!
