PDP Racing Signs New Sponsor

PDP Racing is proud to announce a new sponsor for the 2014 racing season. Buck Necked Landscaping will be gracing the side of PDP Racing's Pavement and Dirt Sprint cars.

Buck Necked Landscaping is the premier landscaping company all through the Midwest using state of the trimming equipment. Buck of Buck Necked Landscaping had this to say, “We are proud to be associated with PDP Racing. I noticed that Paterson guy looking out his windows a lot when we were working around his neighbor’s house. He seemed particularly interested when Lola, our lead greens keeper was bending over planting flowers. We worked at his neighbors for four days planting new shrubs and such and I figured he must be a real clean freak because every day we were there; he was out washing his truck! We started talking, and next thing you know, my name is on the side of his car.”

He further stated, “In honor of the start of the racing season, we are running a hedge trimming special. All trimming 30% off. So ladies, surprise your husband this spring with a well-trimmed bush.”

We contacted Jim Payne, primary driver for PDP Racing, for comment. He stated,” I hope it’s better than that seafood restaurant he got last year. I’m still nauseous from eating there. I don’t think those were shrimp and I don’t know what that house wine was, but it wasn’t made out of grapes!”

We caught up with Chad Delagrange, Vice President of Research and Development for PDP Racing at the PDP Racing Skunk Works Facility in Waterloo, Indiana. It was such a nice day; the doors to the Skunk Works were open so this reporter did not have to go through the normal security measures.

Chad had a large block of aluminum on his milling machine. When asked what he was building, he replied, “I’m making a double overhead cam conversion for that Hudson Hornet motor over there. I figure this with the twin superchargers will give me 350, maybe 360 horse power!”

When asked if this would be legal in the sprint car, he replied, “Sprint car, what sprint car? Oh yeah, I guess I do own part of that. I should give those guys a call sometime and see how they’re doing.”

Paterson commented, “Our first race in the Midwest will be the Glen Niebel Classic at Anderson, Indiana on April 27. So in conjunction with Buck, we will be giving away bags of Clarence the Wonder Dog’s Special Fertilizer. It’s good for keeping the lawn green or simply lighting on fire on your neighbor’s porch. “

Happy April 1st everyone!

Tom Paterson
