Midgets Return To Montpelier Motor Speedway Saturday Night, August 17

The Montpelier Motor Speedway will host their 4th Midget race of the 2013 season this Saturday Night, August 17th before heading into a very busy September month for Midgets. Billy Wease will enter the weekend as the series point’s leader followed closely by Claremore, Oklahoma Rookie, Blake Edwards, and Michael Koontz. A major points shakeup is expected as any car in the top 20 will have an opportunity to land in the top 10 positions with just 4 races left during the 2013 season. The series has found parity between competitors and has sent four different winners to victory lane: Darren Hagen, Shane Hollingsworth, Billy Wease, and Isaac Chapple. The Midget series, features full size and power midgets, with an open tire and engine rule for competitors. The series so far this season has averaged nearly 25 entries per race. The series sponsor is Tony Rose a represenative of American Racer Tire.

Congratulations to race winner, Lynsey Liguori. After a first lap restart, Lynsey came from the 8th starting position to wage a multiple lap side by side battle with Shane Hollingsworth. Lynsey grabbed the lead the lead with two laps remaining to post her first career Midget feature win.

Lynsey becomes the 5th different winner in 5 races this season in the Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series.

We have three Midget dates remaining in September that have been historical strong dates for the series.

We will have full results and pictures available on our website late today.

Lynsey was running mid pack on the last caution and jumped to the outside on the restart and just started reeling them off 1 by 1..her and Shane def put up a good fight but she prevailed..Congrats to Lynsey
