Tim & Teresa Grant asked us to post an update on Justin. First, they want to THANK everyone for all the prayers and support. Justin's C5 vertebra is fractured and there is some ligament damage surrounding that area in his neck. At 8 pm tonight Justin underwent a 5 hour surgery to repair the ligament damage. I just received a text stating that the first part of the surgery went really well. I will continue to update everyone. Please, keep them in your thoughts
Update from Tim & Teresa Grant- Justin is resting as comfortable as he can after a 7 hour surgery. The surgery took longer then had expected. The surgeon's found more damage then what they had expected. They had to replace a disc, fused vertebra's 4&6, added pins and rods to both sides of the neck. A bone fragment was removed from spine area but did NOT do any damage, thank the lord. The ligament damage was not of concern since they stabblized the neck with rods. Justin has a long road in front of him but is expected to have a full recovery. He will be in the hospital for a couple more days then home with a brace for a few months. He will also need rehab to regain his strength. I will try to get an address for those wanting to send cards. Keep Justin and his family in your prayers. |
