Not wanting to bash promoters but,
But cutting a purse $100.00 on the top because there is not 20 cars is not were to do it .
You saved $100.00 I went home and told people it was cut.
By the other 4 cars not being there you did not get 30.00 per car times three people = $360.00 but you did not have to pay them $150.00 times 4 cars = $600.00. you still saved $240.00 and IF you had paid the extra $100.00 you would haved still saved $140.00 and not had bad Advertisement,And more cars would come knowing you are going to pay a full purse. We cannot tow to a track and not know what the payout will be by how many cars will be there. We know you are out on a limb but we also have bills to pay.

this is really a pet peve of mine, if you as a promotor please post a over 20 car count payout and a 20 and below payout, really not that hard to do that way before i go to your track i have something to base my decision on,also i have never seen a promotor at the drivers meeting say we have 40 cars tonight im going to raise the payout, only when they have less cars thats when they cut it, jmo i think maybe kokomo couple years back they had a lower car count and promotor told the drivers thanks for comming and took the left over purse and added it to the feature payout for the 12-14 guys that supported him

Not sure who you are talking about in your situation, but to label promoters is wrong. I know i have never ever cut any purse in any class, and i never will. I know there are some crooked people out there that do this and its wrong. I also know there are alot of promoters who don't cut purses. I always pay what i say i am going to and i also don't hide the payout. Thanks and please don't label all promoters in your situation.
Thanks and have a great weekend of racing. Dave

I agree. I will give LPS credit, a couple years ago they had nearly 40 bombers. They decided to run two features instead of the one, and they paid full purse for each. I thought that was a class act. But I do believe all payouts should be posted and always upheld.

Somewhat on these same lines, I have seen on more than a few occasions at TSS where there may just be 2 or 3 guys that would not make the feature, Helfrich stepped up to the plate and said no consi was required and all cars will start feature. It cost him money to do this, maybe that is why they are called "The Class Track". JMO

I guess it'd be nice to know who has your feathers all ruffled up, to just post a "general" bash, that isn't supposed to bash promoters, or certain race tracks, sounds like something you might have mumbled to yourself, in the bathroom, if it's stuck in your craw, let it out man, you're gonna choke to death! Bob!

Korey is referring to how Clay County Speedway is doing their Sprint Car purse this season. It does make it tough if you are traveling a distance to the track and still not know what you are running for. Great race track, nice facility though without a doubt!

well let me add to this post.......several years ago i got the chance to go to the promotors workshop in las veags....started racing in 1956 never got to go to one before....was fairly interesting with the guest speakers and such BUT when they got to the place where they asked promoters to tell what they do at their tracks to make more money........i couldn`t believe what i was hearing.....99% of the schemes they developed were totally against the racer.......the secretary of the group i was signed in on had to drag me from the room......wish we had a racers workshop!!
