I thought I remember reading something that Lawrenceburg took credit cards/debit cards at the gate for general admission, is that true?

Yes, they do, and they don't charge an additional fee.

haven't dealt with it yet because we go in on the back straight but, if it becomes a problem in the future, perhaps they will have to have a "cash" window and a "credit" window??

Should be a lot quicker, if they have a card reader, it's instant, and they surely have one, I use mine all the time anymore, especially in drive thru's, you don't have the hassle of getting your wallet, or purse out, finding the "exact" change, and fooling around with the change you get back, it took me a while to realize it, then you have a record every month, I too, thought it was foolish for a small amount, but time wise, and hassle wise, it's faster, before I got my card reader, in my shop, yes, it was a pain, put the slip in the slider, record the purchase, then call on a "phone" to get an approval number, then at the end of the day, tally them all up, and once more, call for a deposit number, put each day's receipts in a separete file, and hold them for 7 yrs. My, we've come a long way! But we still can't make an automobile much more effecient, than it was, when gas was .29 a gallon! Bob!

Thanks for the replies.

I wondered because me and a buddy decided to go and I didnt have time to go to the ATM. Worked out fine, they had a card reader in the general admission gate, worked out well.

Wish more tracks would do this, I never keep cash on me except for going to the track.

I used my credit card. The reader was slow in responding; it did slow things down, but that doesn't usually happen.

Any idee what their "signature required" limit is, that might take bit longer, but still should be less time than a "cash" transaction. Bob!

I paid for one general admission ticket with my card and had to sign, I was done paying for myself by the time the people next to me were paying for their group of 4. I'll take standing in line an extra few seconds per person if it means I don't have to take cash.

+1 Lawrenceburg!
