FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hurricane Promotions/ John Reuter Racing March 2012 John Reuter: One Goal in 2012, Victory Lane Hamilton, NJ: The 2011 season was one filled with improvement for John Reuter. In 2012, the eighteen year old driver will go into his third year competing in micro sprints at Airport Speedway in New Castle, Delaware, as well as at several other area tracks. The goal for 2012 is simple, victory lane. John has won heat races, posted several top five finishes, many top ten’s, but hasn’t won a feature event in his career. He hopes that will change in 2012. “I tried not to let it get to me last year. It was only my second year behind the wheel, and I was competing against kids my age that have been racing since they were five or six, and adults that had been racing since before I was born. I wasn’t discouraged, but as the year went on we got faster and had good runs, and it made me hungrier,” John says. “I learned plenty last season, both with driving style as well as setup, and honestly, I feel like I have no excuse to not win this year.” The team will once again call Airport Speedway home in 2012, as John expects to compete in most events there. If all goes well, John may have a 270 motor to drop in for some big end of season races. “I’ve been working hard at my job. I had a few things I had to take care of financially, but now I can start to try and target my money towards a motor. I’d love to have a chance to run some bigger races at the end of the season, including Linda’s National Open, The Kevin Gobrecht Memorial at Trail Way, and the Lanco Labor Day shootout. I am really hopeful I can get a motor and the funding to run these events!” Finding the funding to race was made a little bit easier this Winter, as the team picked up a new marketing partner! Lelands.com and Heffner Racing Enterprises will be on board the 12r in 2012. “I really have to thank Michael Heffner for coming on board and helping us out. He is definitely one of the good guys of the sport, and does plenty to support race teams and tracks! My favorite sprint car team is the team he owns with Daryn Pittman as driver, so that makes this even cooler. It is an honor to be able to work with Lelands.com and Heffner Racing this season. Mike‘s car is one of the best in the country, so hopefully he can bring a little good luck!” Lelands is the largest and most respected sports auction house in the world. Over the past five years, Lelands has sold over $40 million worth of vintage sports memorabilia and cards. They are very friendly people and have very neat items up for auction. Heffner Racing Enterprises is a sprint car team owned by Michael Heffner with driver Daryn Pittman. They are considered one of the top teams in the country and a threat to win at any track they compete at. In addition to the new partnership, the John Reuter Racing 12r will also have a color scheme similar to that on the Heffner Racing Enterprises 27. “My dream is to make it to the 358 or 410 sprint car level but I won’t do that without getting a ride, a large amount of sponsorship funding, or hitting the lottery,” John says. “I am hungry to accomplish my dream and I will do whatever it takes to become a better racer, as well as attract more fans and businesses to our team. I am looking forward to representing myself and my sponsors in a positive way on and off the track this season!” “I’m hoping couple of seasons of micros then to get in a 305 or 358. It will be really tough to secure the funding however, so I am hoping to run good as well as promote my team in a professional manner so I can open some eyes and hopefully have some luck.” The team will once again be utilizing an RTS Chassis this season. The engine will be done by Chuck Palmucci, with shocks being done by Tim Buckwalter at Tim’s Shock Lab. “I’m excited. RTS always builds a good car. Chuck’s engines have smoke, and we did some things over the winter that should give us even more smoke. Last year we struggled with shocks alot, so this winter we had Tim Buckwalter look at them. He does great work and is affordable. I am really looking forward to seeing how they run. We fixed many things over the Winter, and I think we can be fast this year.” You can follow John as he chases his dreams.
