Angola Speedway owner Greg Poe, son of long-time owner Dick Poe, has announced that the track is for sale and won't open in 2012.

Thanks for the info. Sorry to see any track close but this certainly isn't a surprise. When Dick passed away I was afraid of what might happen. I know Craig tried his best but just couldn't make the money necessary to continue.
It would be a shame to see this facility sit empty and go down hill. The Poe's put a lot of money into it and I always felt the racing was top notch. It didn't matter if it was the supermodifieds, HOSS sprints or the CRA late models, they all put on a great show. I even enjoyed the support series plus they had a great fireworks show on a couple of my trips up north.
