A quick note to USAC for the spectacular Banquet last Friday night. A beautiful location, great food and drink and top notch entertainment (from the drivers). It's wonderful to see USAC moving forward and making significant improvements to all their classes and adding others, like the off-road truck series, and making huge leaps with the .025 midgets (the young drivers from the .025 were the hit of the Banquet, remembering the old line "kids say the darndest things"). I was amazed at the number of NASCAR guys in the crowd, now with kids in the ranks of USAC, Jeff & Ward Burton, John Andretti, Ernie Irvan (and probably others i didn't see). Many highlites throughout the night, but finding out about Bryan Clauson getting a chance to run in this years Indy 500 and the young man from the .025 class stating that the best thing about racing this past year was that his car owner "has a real pretty daughter" were 2 of the crowd pleasers, plus the fact that all 10 of the drivers involved in the National points chase were there to accept their awards. Thanks to USAC for a wonderful evening, I know you take enough abuse throughout the year, and Thanks to a great friend, Chris Jockish for inviting me. bob.
