Hello, out there, I see on the Mtqrl website, that "there will be no rule changes for 2012", I assume that means that the weight rule, that was promised last Spring, will not be changed, and instead of being 850#, car and driver, it will continue to favor the lighter drivers, and remain at 800#, car and driver, or as it has been for years, still no "balance" of the field! Just sayin! Bob!

Easiest and least expensive way to shed weight on a race car is buy going on a diet. I'm on mine.. so not very worrierd.

Chris, let me say this, we have no problem making the 850# wt, the car weighs either 675, or 725, depends on the scales and where they set them up, I believe the 675 myself, and Kyle is heavier than he looks, so the 850 is no problem, we only have maybe 5 or 6, that will weigh in at or below the 800 wt, the majority have no problem making 850 and plenty more. It really isn't a question of how much we weigh, if it's 850, that's what everyone has to weigh, minimum, and the average was 883, and the committee that decided the 850, were all car owners, but it went away, somehow. Chris, the 675 is with 2 gal of fuel in the tank, we usually only use 1.5 gal in a feature, so that keeps us safe when the race is over. BTW, did you find a way you could get DOWN to 800lbs? Bob!

If u add 50lbs to weight rule does it slow lighter cars down a bit? If so how did a driver coming across scales at 1000 lbs every time out. He finished 1st 4 times and finished in top 4 the other 4races he raced. Maybe if he didnt do so well and lighter Guy won every race maybe it would be easier to get weight changed. I'm a little on heavy side my self at about 900 lbs.

The Indiana TQ rules do not need changed! They have been the same for 40years, and that is just the way Indiana TQs want it.

Not necessarily does it slow the lighter projectile down, but it's at least equivlent to taking 50lbs off the heavier one, thus making them more equal, but that may be too hard to understand, so if you're comfy at 800lbs, who am I to doubt it, but, it does remain the ONLY control you have over a "balance", you cannot control Hp, or how good or bad a driver or his equipment is, but you can at least control what "balance" you have over the field, as to what a starting point is. It really doesn't matter to me, according to your "guestimate", my car and driver should be right on the money! I just watched a video, of the world's fastest production automobile, and to pick up 5mph, it took another 120Hp. Bob!
