Hope I'm right with this. Didn't I see someplace where Ron Fisher passed away last weekend? RIP Ron.

His brother, Don, is the one who passed away on October 28. Donnie is in the glasses and red jacket on the right of the picture.
Ron died in 1987. |

we called them sholder holsters in 1/4 midgets. They had air chucks quick disconects on a strap that we attached to the right nerf bar then we leaned out the left until our helmet was almost touched on the ground to adjust them. They were usually home made we didn't have Simpson back then. "PAT"You must br really old.

Minor correction. It's a "Sam Browne" belt. Here's way more than you ever wanted to know about old Sam.

I guess since we turned left our shoulder belt went over the left sholder. We did think it was pretty cool, and the bigger you got the more left side weight you had. At the end i think my 1/4 midget turned into a "side car". Those darned light kids in the light class were still a bunch faster but we made as much noise and could throw the car around better.

I can't remember the names of the two guys on the left, but I recognize Stubb (standing behind Ron) and Don and the Barrel himself ( in the car). They were regulars on the Indiana scene for years. What ever happened to Stubb? |
