Jo helberg won the race with Pierce on his tail at the end. Jacob wilson was an early scratch after smacking the turn 4 wall during qualifications. If i heard correctly, Sondi became the first woman to win a race at Salem after her heat victory. And, the track record was broke once again. Very good show but still miss the non wing races at the high banks.

In time trials Brian Gerster showed those kids the short way around with a 14.169 lap.

Pavement Dave, the 46 was Jim Blenkarn out of Murfreesboro, TN
Neil, the PA announcer was 1/2 way correct. Sondi's heat race win was the first ever SPRINT CAR victory by a female driver. Bev Griffis won at Salem in the late 80's/early 90's in a midget with AAMS. Brent Seelman |
