What is the point of putting an American driver in a series full of foreign cars? I was recently told that fans don't care where the cars are from. Can anyone enlighten me on this phenomena of apathy towards American made products? I'm referring to IndyCar and the multiple Road to Indy classes.

I think DRC, Maxim, Beast, Bullet and most of the other Chassis manufacturers are in the US.

I was referring to the Road to Indy ladders(F2000, Mazda and Indy Lights) and IndyCar. I just revised the original post for clarification.

Americans don't have the sense of national pride they once had. It's sad.

What the harm in letting a foreign driver or car owner live his dream? They are all human just like us Americans

As a 24 year old male, born and raised in the midwest, who now works with numerous professional manufacturers (both large and small) on a daily basis...

I blame the generation(s) that came before me for leaving such a mess. Foreign trade policies, labor unions, and a general lack of intelligence are slowly bringing our country to her knees.

I pray that most of my generation can see what I do, but I fear they too are blinded by decision makers who talk of the grandeur the USA once was, but no longer is.

Simple Answer: We (USA) cannot compete, and it's our own fault.

The point is to try to make it somewhere! I really don't care as a racer you will jump in and race any Quality race car that's what we do!

Could not agree more. This is a way bigger problem than just Indy car chassis manufacturers.

If u wanna blame anyone blame American company's for ur frustration on foreign drivers. Plenty of foreign company's back their country's drivers which gets them wherever they want to go. American company's either don't have the money or drive to fully back American drivers like foreign company's do. I've dreamed of indy my whole life like most other drivers but unfortunately its not what it used to be. Indy is indy, foreign or not 3 wide 11 rows deep is always and always will be the "race of all races".

Nothing wrong with foreigners pursuing their dreams but as a proud American I want to see American drivers driving American made cars. If I were French I would want to see French drivers in French cars.
