I often disagree with what Mr. Tracy has to say, but in this case we are on the same page. I predict that the Indianapolis 500 will be a much better show than the World 600 or whatever they call it these days.

Just another distorted treatise from the infamous Paul Tracy. I really enjoy watching the man race and even like his off-the-beaten-path personality, but his interviews are usually full of holes.

Didn't P.T. try NASCAR some years back about the same time Jimmy Vasser tried it and never got the handle on it, believe it was 2005 for RCR. Wonder if that is the reason he feels the way he does about it, but I agree with him.

I would have to say I agree with the races being too long and boring. I'd like to see heat races on the short tracks.

I also find him to add some excitement, like the Mexican wrestling mask stunt in Montreal. I think he understands the importance of the media and regardless if you don't like him, he is well known outside of racing. As a Canadian I obviously like to see him succeed. But he wouldn't say it was boring when he was trying to race in Nascar.

Well Paul hasn't been watching the Cup season so far, it's been pretty competitive. I still get a bit excited when I think about Daytona back in Feb. I'll take the 600 over Indy anyday. You guys should watch the 600 for Stenhouse who'll be making his Cup debut subbing for Trevor Bayne. Starting 9th and was the fastest in Happy Hour yesterday.

There no longer is a NASCAR. It is IROC with a larger field of cars. Would like to see a school bus engine at INDY again, too. Tom

I asked Roger Rager about the shcool bus engine.

I was thinking beforehand "well ya know, maybe that particular school bus had an engine that was a heavy duty commercial type , intended to last 300k miles, without much loss of power. Never heard of such a thing, but maybe it was an inside secret that led to a heavily modified small block suitable to qualify and get close to a top ten if it held together."

Not even close..... Roger almost got defensive when I askied him about it, he said "IT'S ALL WE HAD!"............

Then I had to explain to him many, many people still marveled that it was even possible to do what he did, and actually lead a lap or two in 500. I went on to let him know some saw him as asort of 'folk hero', representing the little guys.

Roger calms down, and tells me they needed a block, that is all. And all they had as a donor was an old school bus. So they turned the bus up on it's side, cut the mounts with a torch, used I guess a forklift to pull it out and lay its greasy worn out self on the ground!

He ended up making the field, leads a lap, but gets into an accident with Jim MacElreath after Jim spins.
